The Prep Girls Hoops Missouri June Team Camp Tour was in Shelbina on Thursday to watch the Ladybird Classic at South Shelby.

Ladybird Shootout Top Teams | Prep Girls Hoops (2)

South Shelby: The host Ladybirds have another strong squad in the making. They have been without standout forward Belle Roush Belle Roush 5'9" | SF South Shelby | 2025 State MO , who is still on the mend from a late-season knee injury. Leading the way is 2025 point guard Callie McWilliams Callie McWilliams 5'7" | PG South Shelby | 2025 State MO , who has speed and three level scoring ability. Charley Roush is a 5’10 2026 forward with a strong presence inside while 2026 Hannah Gaines is a solid all-around wing player. Another good young player in the fold is 2027 guard Reese Maupin.

Westran: The Hornets looked very impressive in victories over Macon and Hannibal in the games that I watched. They won 18 games last season and have most of their talent back, led by 5’10” 2026 Kate Hollmann Kate Hollmann 5'10" | SF Westran | 2026 MO , a versatile wing player who excels in the low post and on the perimeter. Emma Wortmann is 6’0″ 2026 forward with good length and a nice shooting touch inside. The point guard is 2026 Jaelyn Miller, who has outstanding speed and defensive ability. Kharigan Fuemmeler and Hadley Harvey are a pair of 2026 wing player who are athletic and can shoot it.

Salisbury: The Panthers won 22 games and played for a district championship last season. They looked strong on Thursday in their victory over Louisiana. The Panthers have an excellent inside-outside combination is 2025 forward Julia Sloan and 2025 point guard Tori Ricketts Tori Ricketts 5'6" | PG Salisbury | 2025 State MO . Sloan is a 5’8″ forward who plays much bigger than her actual size with her physical strength and footwork. Ricketts is a talented guard who can run the team and hit open 3-pointers. A couple of other solid guards in the fold are 2025 Carmi Wekenborg and 2026 Ala King. They are very good complimentary players.

New Franklin: The Lady Bulldogs had one of the most impressive guards that I saw during the day in 2026 Lily Chitwood Lily Chitwood 5'6" | CG New Franklin | 2026 State MO , who is an excellent playmaker who can also score. She can also defend very well. Her backcourt partner is 2026 Lydia Burnett who can handle the ball and shoot it well from long distance. Skylar Shaw is a 5’11” 2026 forward who holds things down inside. New Franklin also has a very capable 2028 guard in 5’9″ Bella Chitwood, who is Lily’s younger sister.

Hannibal: The Pirates have one of the top players in the Northeast region in 5’8″ 2025 guard Mariah Mayfield Mariah Mayfield 5'8" | SG Hannibal | 2025 State MO . The smooth lefty bucket-getter can score from all three levels. Maria Stolte is a very talented 2026 point guard with excellent court vision and a nice perimeter shot. Abbie Martin is a 5’9″ 2025 all-purpose player who excels at all facets of the game.

Brunswick: It was my second look at the Lady Wildcats this month as I also saw them at the Higbee Shootout. They were impressive in a win over Marceline. The have a strong 1-2 combination inside in 6’1″ 2026 Joslynn Brown Joslynn Brown 6'0" | PF Brunswick | 2026 State MO and 5’11” 2025 Cadence Meyer Cadence Meyer 5'11" | SF Brunswick | 2026 State MO . Brown can control the action inside as a scorer and rebounder, plus she can also block shots. Meyer has a nice inside-outside game, where she can score in the post or step out and hit shots from the mid-post and beyond the 3-point line. Katie Cook is a 2026 point guard who is the primary ball handler who can also make open 3-pointers to loosen up the defense.

Marion County: The Lady Mustangs have a solid player in 5’9″ 2025 Aylah Pollard, who is strong with excellent footwork in the post to score against taller players. She was an All-District player during the season. Kennedy Hathaway is a 2026 guard who was impressive in both games I watched her. Samantha Kindhart is a 2025 guard who is a sniper from 3-point range while 6’0″ 2025 Grace Jensen can rebound and really run the court.

Ladybird Shootout Top Teams | Prep Girls Hoops (10)

Macon: The Tigerettes have a young squad and is steadily improving with each season. They have a pair of good-sized 2025 wing players in Reece Barnett and Makenzie Hessell. Barnett can make 3-pointers and attack off the dribble while Hessell is a very good passer who defends well. Charleigh Douglass is a 2027 guard who is a tenacious defender with a strong motor while 2025 Mya Schleicher is a physical player in the low post.

Novinger: The Lady Cats have a nice pair of guards in 2025 Kelsey Frederick and 2026 Avery Carter. Frederick is an athletic wing who stays on the attack while Carter can shoot the 3-pointer and drive it. Graci Franklin is a 5’11” 2025 forward who rebounds and blocks shots while 2026 Kaird Kastacia is a glue player who does a little of everything.

Louisiana: The Lady Bulldogs have a pair of tall and talented players to build around in 5’11” 2026 Reece Wommack and 5’10” 2025 Jordan Pedersen. Wommack is an excellent 3-point shooter who can also handle the ball while Pedersen is a facilitator on offense who also blocks shots on defense. They have a pair of talented young guards entering the high school ranks in 2028 twins Trinity and Cyrinity Chatman.

Green City: The Lady Gophers won 20 games and a district championship in Class 1 last season. They feature an excellent small school talent in 5’11” 2026 forward Jaryn Hatcher Jaryn Hatcher 6'0" | PF Green City R-1 | 2026 State MO . The young lefty is a tough cover around the basket with her strength and shooting touch. She can also drive it from the high post. She gets good perimeter assistance from 2027 guard Macy Jeffries, who can handle the ball and shoot it from 3-point range.
