Another successful weekend on the the Prep Hoops Circuit is in the books. The Stage took place on the north side of Indianapolis this weekend with the 17u teams playing at the beautiful Pacers Athletic Center facility. We were treated to a bunch of good games, some excellent individual performances, and had dozens of college coaches in the stands throughout the weekend. It was tough, as always, to comb through all of the action from the weekend and narrow down the hundreds of players to just a few All-Tournament Teams. However, these are the players that stood out the most from The Stage at the 17u level. Let’s dive on in.

First Team

Isaac Ayoubi

CLASS 2023

Isaac Ayoubi

School: Sydney Boys School (Australia)

Club: AUSA Australia Sepo

It was another standout weekend for his playmaking guard for AUSA Sepo. Ayoubi was the leader for his squad throughout the weekend while leading them to a perfect 4-0 record in a very competitive Pool A at The Stage. He will take his talents to Minneapolis next weekend for the Prep Hoops LIVE event. College coaches definitely should be coming out to see him play. He is an unsigned senior wanting to come to American to play college basketball.

Chance Casenhiser

State: Ohio

School: Uniontown Lake

Club: Midwest BC Cleveland

Casenhiser averaged 21.2 points per game to lead Midwest Basketball Club 2024 Cleveland to a dominant 4-0 weekend. The 6’1″ athletic guard can flat out score the basketball from any spot on the floor. He has sneaky athleticism, a smooth jump shot off of the dribble, and solid all-around playmaking ability in the backcourt. Should continue to attract a lot of college interest this spring and summer.

State: Indiana

School: Plainfield

Club: Kyle Guy Elite Black 2024

This 5’10” guard solidified himself as one of the best pure shooters in Indiana’s Class of 2024 with his strong play this weekend at The Stage. Ellis averaged 15.8 points per game while leading Kyle Guy Elite Black 2024 to a perfect 4-0 record. He is excellent at running off of screens, creating separation, and getting his shot off in a hurry. So smooth from beyond the arc. Already becoming a hot name on the recruiting lists of area small college programs.

Highlights

Noah Pagotto

School: Holy Spirit College Bellambi (Australia)

Club: AUSA Australia Brook

It is now back-to-back First Team All-Tournament honors for Pagotto. After dominating at the Chi-Town Tip-Off last weekend, the 6’7″ versatile forward did more of the same as AUSA Brook went 4-0 at The Stage. He is so physical around the basket while also possessing guard-like ball handling and passing ability on the perimeter. Perfect for a college program looking for a skilled 4-man. Starting to drum up some Division I level interest going into the Prep Hoops LIVE event in Minneapolis next weekend.

Indred Whitaker

State: Kentucky

School: Somerset

Club: Ky Future Elite

Kentucky Future Elite 2024 was one of the more impressive teams at The Stage this weekend. They turned a perfect 4-0 record along with some truly dominant performances. There were multiple players who deserved All-Tournament recognition, but Whitaker stood out above the rest to earn First Team honors. Whitaker is a talented 6’2″ guard that put up a couple of 20+ point games. He will be a highly sought small college recruit in the surrounding area.

Lamar Dampier

HEIGHT 6'1"

POS SG

CLASS 2024

Lamar Dampier

School: Firestone

Club: Next Level Basketball 2024

You don’t often talk about defense when covering grassroots basketball, but Dampier is a truly impactful wing defender. His athleticism and length, along with a high IQ, makes him very advanced for a high school prospect on that end of the floor. Dampier had a great weekend offensively as well showing casing his athletic driving ability and smooth jump shot. He was a big part of Next Level Basketball’s wins in a super competitive Pool A.

The Stage - 17u All-Tournament Teams - Prep Hoops (20)

Harry Evans

HEIGHT 7'0"

POS C

CLASS 2023

Harry Evans

School: St. Aloysius College (Australia)

Club: AUSA Australia Sepo

There aren’t many 7-footers walking around the Prep Hoops Circuit, but this big man stands out for more reasons than just being the biggest guy in the gym. Evans has good hands around the basket, can score it on the roll, and dominates the glass where he consistently finishes on offensive rebound putbacks. College programs should make a point of checking him out next weekend at Prep Hoops LIVE in Minneapolis. Had a big weekend helping lead AUSA Sepo to a 4-0 record.

Luke Matan

The skilled 6’4″ guard poured in 29 points while connecting on all five of his three-point attempts for M14 Hoops 2024 National-1. It was an incredibly impressive performance to help lift his team to victory.

A talented 6’4″ left guard was excellent all weekend long while helping lead Midwest Basketball Club 2024 Cleveland to an undefeated 4-0 record. Nigro capped things off on Sunday with a 25-point performance, but he was consistently very good in each win. Definitely a prospect that the Ohio small college programs are going to be coming after in a major way.
